At BICSI South Pacific, we not only champion the power of ‘digital networking’ through our ICT expertise but also understand the undeniable value of ‘professional networking’ in connecting the threads of our industry. Our special events help build connections and collaborative opportunities that go beyond infrastructure – because in the world of ICT, every connection matters.
Beyond the formalities of conferences and seminars, these events provide a relaxed and enjoyable environment for professionals to connect, fostering meaningful relationships that extend beyond business discussions.
Whether it’s the camaraderie on the golf course, the casual conversations at a B-Net, the friendly competition during trivia nights, or the insightful site tours, these events create opportunities for professionals to share experiences, exchange ideas, and build a strong sense of community within the ICT industry.
Golf Days
BICSI South Pacific Golf days are held in Brisbane, Canberra, Perth and Sydney. Members and their guests enjoy an excellent day on some of Australia’s finest golf courses. The very full Golf days are usually accompanied by an educational seminar, followed by lunch, 18 hole Ambrose-style golf competition between sponsored teams and awards presentation, where the winners (and losers) are recognised for their golf skills.
An important part of every BICSI South Pacific Golf day is raising money for local charities. BICSI members and their guests are empathetic to those in their community who are struggling and have proven to be extremely generous in giving a helping hand.
BICSI Golf Days have been raising donations for local charities every year since their inception in 1998 in Brisbane. Over the years, tens of thousands of dollars have been raised at BICSI Golf Days for charities that included MS Australia, Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation, Roll101, Mater Foundation, BeyondBlue, Angel Flight, Variety, Haemophilia Foundation, Miracle Babies, Kids Cancer Research Trust and Clown Doctors. B-Nets & B-Quiz
B-Net’s are a great opportunity to network in a relaxed, friendly environment at the end of a working day, enabling members to drop in for a quick drink and a chat at a local pub after work. B-Quiz Trivia Nights are a night of fun, networking and realising you know nothing about general trivia. There are no presentations or promotional marketing – just a light-hearted social event.
These have proven to be events that many of our members have been looking for – as a place to get together with fellow professionals, as a place to do some networking, or even just a means of giving our industry a sense of unity and identity.
Most importantly, we ask participants to bring plenty of their business cards to exchange.
Other Events
We are always on the lookout for other event opportunities, where BICSI members can connect, explore opportunities or learn something new. For example, sometimes we have the opportunity for site tours of ICT Infrastructure at bleeding-edge buildings or venues. These types of member-only exclusives deliver value to our community, so keep an eye out for these special events.
