About BICSI
BICSI is a professional association supporting the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, which covers the spectrum of voice, data, electronic safety & security, audio & video, and building automation technologies. It encompasses the design, integration and installation of pathways, spaces, fibre- and copper-based distribution systems, wireless-based systems and infrastructure that supports the transportation of information and associated signaling between and among communications and information gathering devices.
BICSI provides information, education and knowledge assessment for individuals and companies in the ICT infrastructure industry across the globe. Serving more than 23,000 ICT professionals, including designers, installers and technicians. These individuals provide the fundamental infrastructure for telecommunications, audio/video, life safety and automation systems. Through courses, conferences, publications and professional registration programs, BICSI staff and volunteers assist ICT professionals in delivering critical products and services, and offer opportunities for continual improvement and enhanced professional stature.
BICSI South Pacific
BICSI South Pacific is an affiliate of BICSI covering the South Pacific region (includes Australia, New Zealand and some Pacific islands). Established over 20 years ago in 2001, BICSI South Pacific has been providing members access to resources and education on infrastructure to support digital technologies tailored to our the ‘landscape’ of our region(legislation, regulations, standards, industry norms, etc). This enables members to design, install and manage ICT infrastructure at the highest standard and within the requirements mandated by local regulations. Through local events, such as conferences, seminars, golf days and networking events, ICT professionals have also received the opportunity to form connections with other professionals and local businesses, promoting the sustained growth and development of our industry in the South Pacific region. Offering local training courses has allowed more ICT professionals to advance their careers by participating in the BICSI credentialling program, which enhances their value to industry.
