Topic: Smart Cities and Urban Technology
Speaker: Richard Morrison, ANZ Information & Communications Technology Practice Lead, AECOM
With Australia’s population in cities set to double in the next few decades, the focus on developing urban technology to support cities and transport infrastructure has never been stronger. The increasing pressure on infrastructure and urban services has placed an increased demand on smart systems and technology – considered increasingly critical to ensure that our buildings and cities use less and provide a better community experience. Smart Cities are as much about the new urban technologies that help manage cities more efficiently as about changing people’s and institutions’ frameworks and the processes that make cities more efficient. This seminar will provide an overview of how Australian Government is shaping the technology that underpins our major city shaping and transport projects.
