TIA’s TR-42.13 Engineering Committee on Passive Optical Devices and Fibre Optic Metrology recently issued a call for interest for participation in the development of the document ANSI/TIA-604-18-A, initially titled FOCIS 18- Fibre Optic Connector Intermateability Standard Type MPO-16.

TIA’s TR-42.13 committee is developing guidelines that will revise the existing FOCIS-18 standard to add both up-angle and down-angle polished plugs, and active device receptacles, mates to non-angled plugs and down-angled plugs, for ferrules with one-fibre row and two-fibre rows.TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities. The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: – manufacturers and users of fibre optics cables.
