In BICSI Bytes, Newsby info@bicsi.com.au

This is a reminder for BICSI South Pacific members seeking a position on the BICSI South Pacific Board of Directors (BoD) that will take effect 26 November 2019 to nominate now, as the opportunity closes midnight AEDT 31 March 2019.

The positions that members can nominate for are as follows:

  • Chair-Elect;
  • Treasurer; and
  • Two x General Board Positions.

We encourage all BICSI South Pacific members to consider how they can get more involved with the vision and direction of our association, and think about possibly participating on the Board, or at least who they want to see representing them in strategic industry matters.

Nomination procedure

To nominate, go to https://www.bicsi.com.au/about/2323-2/ . There you will find details on the role as a BICSI South Pacific Director, including the BICSI South Pacific ‘Constitution’; and BICSI Global ‘International Policies & Procedures’; and BICSI ‘Bylaws’.

On this page, you’ll also find the procedure for self-nomination, along with the forms to download, complete and submit to BICSI.

Upon receipt of the nominations after the official closing date of 31 March, all of the candidate submissions will be reviewed by the BICSI South Pacific Nominating Committee, who will then present the successful nominees to the BICSI South Pacific members, along with their vision statements, for the membership to vote to fill the four positions. Voting is expected to commence 1 May 2019 and close midnight AEST 31 May 2019.

Time and resource commitment

BICSI BoD positions are voluntary and require considerable commitment of time and resources. The BoD meets either face-to-face or via teleconference for the quarterly BoD meeting, joined by representatives from BICSI US. In addition to this, you should factor in 10 to 15 hours per month for your individual contribution to direction, strategy, review and execution of BICSI programs.

BICSI endeavours to exercise a positive influence on the ICT industry, and the BoD plays a central role to this work. Consider nominating yourself to volunteer as a member of the BICSI South Pacific BoD if you feel you would be qualified to carry the position.
Thank you for your continued support of and commitment to BICSI and the ICT industry. We look forward to receiving your self-nomination.

Remember: Nominations close midnight AEDT Sunday 31 March 2019.
