2022 Winners & Finalists

ICT Infrastructure Installation Award (Small)

Congratulations to Datatel Electrical & Communications in WA for winning this award! This project required a specialised team capable of delivering the desired outcome through attention to detail coupled with the quality and professionalism to match that of the SCEE Group and their expectations, whilst navigating through an active building with CBD COVID constraints. The project team was led by Project Manager Chris Grossetti who adopted a 1 -1 tradesperson to apprentice ratio. 10 technicians were involved, with highly trained specialist Communications Technicians responsible for the final commissioning and testing of the installation. Datatel has earned recognition for their impressive work on the SCEE HQ.

We would also like to congratulate the finalist Everett-Smith & Co in WA for their amazing contribution.

ICT Infrastructure Installation Award (Medium)

Congratulations to QVR Communications Pty Ltd in NSW for winning this award! The Chau Chak Museum project was spread over six floors, ran for 24 months and was completed in mid-2020. The scope of work included around 1500 horizontal R&M CAT6A shielded links, along with two OS2 fibre backbone connections. Concealing the infrastructure was one of the critical design outcomes, requiring the majority of the horizontal cable pathways be installed within the concrete slab and structure across most of the levels. The final testing and commissioning of outlets had to be coordinated to avoid areas with rare and priceless ancient artefacts. QVR has earned recognition for their impressive work on the Chau Chak Wing Museum.

We would also like to congratulate the finalist Cablewise Electrical and Communications Pty Ltd in WA for their amazing contribution.

ICT Infrastructure Installation Award (Large)

Congratulations to Abinesh Ilangovan Thevar from Aussie Broadband in QLD for winning this award! This deployment was part of $67 million project to build a regional network between key Points Of Interconnect and selected Datacentres across Southeast QLD. It required the connection of 19 POI’s and DCs in a fully diverse ring topology using 288, 360, 720 strands of single mode Prysmian fibre cable. Abinesh’s method and clarity of communication throughout saw Abinesh receive rapturous commendations. Abinesh was most proud of delivering this project with ‘Zero Harm’ throughout the installation of 236Km of fibre, and during lockdowns, floods and logistical delays. Abinesh has earned recognition for his impressive work on the deployment of the QLD Core Fibre Network

We would also like to congratulate the finalist Everett-Smith & Co in WA for their amazing contribution.

Professional ICT Infrastructure Design Award

Congratulations to Everett-Smith & Co in WA for winning this award! The Boola Bardip museum, competed in late 2020, was a $400 million dollar State Government infrastructure project. Everett Smith was awarded the contract for design and construction of the new museum and was created by their own design team with no external input. The new building is integrated into existing and upgraded Heritage Buildings and is three times the size of the original, with eight permanent galleries covering 6000sqm, a temporary exhibition gallery, a shop and a cafe. Everett Smith earned recognition for their impressive work on the New Museum Project.

We would also like to congratulate the finalist Datatel Electrical & Communications in WA for their amazing contribution.

ICT Active Equipment Design Award

Congratulations to AECOM in NSW for winning this award! UNSW engaged AECOM to design the technology solutions to support learning, innovation, and industry for their new 5 storey integrated fit out. Several innovative and technology-focused spaces were integrated throughout the campus, such as studio & architecture labs, project workshops and robotic rooms, presenting the opportunity for cross-collaboration with local businesses and industries. AECOM was proud to be able to design and showcase technology as a feature, rather than a hidden functional element. AECOM has earned recognition for their impressive work on the Paramatta Engineering Innovation Hub

We would also like to congratulate the finalists, AECOM in VIC and WSP in ACT, for their amazing contribution.
